Position Description


Administrative Assistant


St. George is a vibrant Anglican church located in the heart of downtown Toronto. We are looking for a professional, dependable and enthusiastic individual with a passion for the Church and its people and with an ardent desire to serve, learn and grow. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the operations of the church.


The Administrative Assistant will have the following responsibilities and possess the following qualifications:



Be the first point of contact to visitors and answer phone calls to the church office.
Manage and support our HR training and screening requirements for both employees and volunteers.
General administrative duties including daily mailings, copying and office equipment maintenance.
Maintain a professional appearance of the office and other common spaces.
Liaise with tenants as required.
Coordinate facility rental advertising, maintain facility rentals and coordinate invoicing.
Manage and maintain an online presence on the web and social media sites.
Produce various marketing and communication materials such as weekly bulletins, posters and postcards
Coordinate scheduling and training for volunteers at services
Speak with volunteers regularly to promote cooperation and ensure volunteers have appropriate support



Proactive, energetic team player that’s able to work independently and in a team environment
Proven ability to solve problems and take innovative approaches to projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable dealing with the public
Strong attention to detail and proactive
Knowledge of general office procedures
Fluency with the English language – ability to speak, read and comprehend
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft and Google products) and a proven ability to learn and use other software applications as required
Willing to submit a Police background check and comply with the policies of St. George.
Commitment to the mission, vision and values of St. George.



Part-time position (4 days a week). Occasional overtime and Sundays may be required.
