The Position

We are looking to add an incredibly gifted and called member to our staff in the part-time position of Facilities Coordinator (FC). The Facilities Coordinator will serve IPC by being a champion for our building! We have hundreds of people come in and out of the building each week, including schools, day cares and various church programs. As a result of this high traffic, we are in need of a person who will join our team and help us to ensure that our building is always at its best and ready to serve any and all who come through our doors.

*This is currently a part-time position (approx. 15 hours/week) with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future.

 

Responsibilities

The Facilities Coordinator’s responsibilities will generally fall into three basic categories: Systems Maintenance, Custodial Duties, and Event Support. These areas of responsibility are briefly outlined below.

 

Systems Maintenance

IPC is blessed with a wonderful, modern church building, and the Facilities Coordinator would be tasked with monitoring the various systems that keep our building operating. These systems include our heating/cooling systems, furnaces, electrical, etc. Monitoring these systems includes performing regular/monthly audits of system functionality and suggesting and developing regular maintenance plans to ensure optimal system performance. The Facilities Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Pastor and regularly communicate the results of system audits and suggest any repairs or improvements required.

 

Cleaning

Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment is vital to IPC’s ministry. With high traffic comes a building that requires cleaning. The Facilities Coordinator would assume responsibility for regularly cleaning the church building and replenishing cleaning supplies as needed. While cleaning duties are generally routine (cleaning after Sunday service), there are times when special events or rental groups will require specific cleaning needs. When there are needs outside of regular responsibilities (i.e. weddings, funerals), the Facilities Coordinator may be additionally compensated.

 

Event Support

Our building is in use every day of the week and a smaller but vital part of the Facilities Coordinator role is to support the staff in preparing our building for the various events and programs that run in our building. This includes setting up tables and chairs for meetings and/or assisting staff in preparing the building for events.

 

The Ideal Candidate Would,…

  • Belong to an Evangelical Church and (if possible) be willing to start attending IPC as your home church (this means being able to accept and sign our statement of faith)
  • Have experience in event planning an asset (but not required)
  • Have experience in leading a team of volunteers
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Be a strategic thinker, accustomed to taking existing programs and processes and making them better
  • Have great attention to detail, being innately able to organize and notice when things are not quite right
  • Be willing to manage their time effectively and be flexible to work the hours required
  • Be handy and able to carry out minor repairs to the building/equipment as needed.
