Position Description

About Us

We are a summer camp and retreat center a part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship devoted to pursuing revival in Eastern Ontario. Through our summer camp programs we long to see children and youth saved, healed and delivered through encountering Jesus, and sent out transformed as extraordinary kingdom leaders.


Job Description

-Take initiative to get to know campers and encourage them in their walk with God

-Take responsibility for camper care -meeting physical, emotional, spiritual and other needs, and making sure campers are present and safe (normal ratio of 1:5 in cabins, minimum ratio of 1:10 during activities)

-Actively participate in all camp activities

-Mentor leaders in training, if assigned

-Be ready to help however needed – you never know what will happen at camp!

-Learn curriculum and some of the following activities during activity periods: horseback riding, barn management, horse theory, horse training, ropes, biking, wilderness, sports, swimming, boating, archery, crafts, fort-building, wacky science, more.


**This position is volunteer, with a weekly stipend of $40, room and board and the opportunity to fundraise additional salary**


Job Qualifications

-Experience with children youth (ages 10 – 14)

-A growing relationship with Jesus and desire for more

-Enthusiasm and energy

-Valid police check

-Willingness to work long hours

-Relevant certifications or education an asset

-At least 17 years old or completed LIT training

To work at the barn:

-Must have some experience with horses and be able to attend horse staff training in June

To work at the waterfront:

-Bronze Cross or NLS certifications required


Dates and hours:

-Must be able to attend staff training June 28th – July 1st (exceptions for high school exams)

-Week long camp sessions run from July 1st until August 25th, you do not need to be available for every week.

-On work weeks, you get one day off (Saturday noon – Sunday afternoon) and one hour off per day.
