| Experience |
I have been serving in Youth Ministry in some form or fashion for over 6 years. I began volunteering in a small church from 2003-2005. I assisted the Youth Pastor in working with both Jr. & Sr. High students, sometimes together, to actively search after God as I did the same. My responsibilities included building relationships with the youth; helping to run events; and assisting to lead the lessons.
From Jan/05 to June/06 I served as a Part-Time youth pastor at Rouge River Community Church in Markham. As the Youth Ministry Intern, I created, managed, and taught the discipleship materials, I coordinated outreach opportunities and fellowship gatherings, mentored several teens in their faith journey, and utilized the people and tools around me in creating a relevant youth ministry.
From July/06 to present time I am serving as a volunteer in a Full-time youth ministry at Trinity Anglican Church in Streetsville. As a volunteer leader who attends the youth ministry program every Tuesday night, I currently mentor and support students in their walk with God while providing a positive role model of some one who is growing in their own faith. I frequently meet with teens outside the official youth group times as we share life together. In addition to this I also help cultivate a community that accepts all young people no matter where they are at in their journey, and actively help to eliminate the barriers that stand between them and Christ. As a leader, I also spend time helping to plan and co-ordinate events and review them for effectiveness when they are done.
In addition, I have participated in the following Conferences and Seminars:
Willow Creek Leadership Summit 2005
Today's Teen's Conference 2006-2010
"How to Drug Proof Your Kids" (Focus on the Family) 2006 |

I believe that I have a special gift when it comes to the mentoring relationship. I like to build relationships, identify where the student is at on their spiritual journey, and nurture them towards Christ. I have an equal passion for students who have grown up in the church as well as those who have not. My other interests generally revolve around sports. I love to play and watch sports - especially team sports. |
