Company: InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Ontario
Location/Address:

Port Sydney, Ontario

Position Description

Do you love Jesus? Love kids? Love being outdoors? Want to have opportunities to share the gospel with hundreds of kids? Want to make new friends and experience deep-rooted community? Do you want to grow in your leadership, service, and discipleship?

Come and work at camp!

InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Ontario, located in Muskoka, is seeking to hire Section Heads for their various summer ministries and operations. InterVarsity’s mission is the transformation of youth, students and graduates, in all their ethnic diversity, into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. In alignment with this purpose, Section Heads will provide a quality camp experience for our campers. Section Heads are responsible for caring for managing an age group at camp, caring for all of the campers within that age group, discipling and coaching a team of staff, helping run games, teaching activities, helping facilitate Bible studies, and building strong relationships that point to Christ. Our camps run overnight for the months of July and August, with opportunity for employment in May and June as well. Each summer we have thousands of campers attend our programming, anywhere from ages 5-16. Some of our programs include...

  • Adventure Camp (co-ed campers, ages 5-10)
  • Boys Camp (boys, ages 11-16)
  • Girls Camp (girls, ages 11-16)
  • LIT (Leaders In Training) (co-ed, ages 15-16)

Most of these programs also include the full integration of individuals with special needs. At Pioneer Camp, we believe that all people are uniquely and wonderfully made in God’s image. This led to the birth of our award-winning Special Needs Program over 35 years ago from a desire to offer a fun, safe, and transformational camp experience to all young people.

If you want to be plugged into an environment that will stretch you, experience a community that will encourage you, have the opportunity to see the firsthand the transformation of lives as campers encounter Christ, and be provided with skills and experiences that will help shape you into the person that God has made you to be, then working at Pioneer for the summer may be for you! To learn more about the various opportunities that exist, we'd encourage you to check out our website or to fill out an application. Please also note that we have had Redeemer students from various departments serve at camp in the past and receive internship credits for doing so.

If you have any questions about any of our programs, please contact our office (info@pioneercamp.ca).
