Position Description

The Director of Engineering (Secondary) is responsible for creating and organizing an engineering and robotics program that teaches campers about elements of engineering and robotics in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum for secondary students. The Director of Engineering will be responsible for coordinating an engineering and robotics program designed to highlight this year's world-travel theme for STEAM & Sports Camp/ Robotics Camp. This position is offered to candidates with at least two years of camp experience. The position requires the highest degree of work ethic and accountability. The candidate must lead and accomplish weekly theme requirements to satisfy weekly goals set for the camp. The candidate must be able to adapt to any given situation and be available to guide and support others, especially other Directors and Teachers (Secondary). This includes leading a team of Teachers (Secondary) in their lesson preparation and setting up materials and supplies that are needed prior to the start of the respective lesson. This position is required to teach campers skills and elements of engineering (ex. creative processes, forces, calculations required to build structures) and areas of robotics (ex. coding, mathematics, critical thinking, problem solving) and work with teachers in delegating tasks for other classes and subjects. When the Director of Engineering (Secondary) is not teaching, they are responsible for supporting other teachers and directors in their classes and other responsibilities throughout all three panels. They will also be expected to provide opportunities for Leadership trainees to plan and lead activities for other panels at camp. Directors of Engineering (Secondary) will be expected to guide and lead secondary students in planning, and executing the closing ceremony for STEAM & Sports Camp / Robotics Camp. PERSONNEL

Age: 18 to 30 Years old

Remuneration: $20.55 per hour for Director of Engineering (Secondary) (CRA requirement: Deduction for CPP and EI as an employee of Triumph Church 2024). NOTE: Will be given a Vacation Pay of 4% of TOTAL INCOME at the end of term. 

Commitment: June 8th, 2024 - August 23rd, 2024 (Upon Approval of Canada Summer Jobs)

Minimum Working Hours: 280 Hours (Upon Approval of Canada Summer Jobs) 

Plan 2 Protect: Completed the course and have received your certificate.
