2024 Severn Bridge Camp Summer Custodian Job Posting

Severn Bridge Camp is seeking the ideal candidate(s) to join our maintenance team this
Summer, in the role of Camp Custodian. The chosen candidate(s) will report directly to the Chairman of the Maintenance Committee and be willing and able to sign The Statement of Faith of Severn Bridge Camp.

The successful applicant, or couple, would live in the maintenance cabin full time on or about, Wednesday, May 15 – September 6, 2024. Orientation and training will be provided.

The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping grounds neat and clean
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the washroom facilities
  • Inspecting the swimming pool and camp drinking water daily
  • General maintenance of the camp saltwater pool
  • Work alongside the maintenance team to complete projects

Applicant(s) must have:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Interpersonal skills to relate with leaseholders, visitors, vendors, inspectors, and member of the camp board.
  • Must be a self starter able to organize and prioritize daily tasks in absence of leadership
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to update camper on activities, local fire conditions and health unit conditions. These must be posted and communicated to all campers and those who come onto the grounds.
  • The ability to work indoors and outdoors in all summer weather conditions
  • Capable of physical labour and able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Safety boots

Required Skills:

  • Safe and proper use of mower and weed eater
  • Attention to detail in cleaning washrooms
  • Ability to keep daily paperwork completed accurately, in preparation for water inspections
