Position Description

TPC Kids Ministries – Toronto, Ontario

Department: Congregational Life

Reports to: Children’s Pastor

Status: Part-time (Sundays required)

Position Overview:

The Children’s Ministry Associate provides support to TPC Kids Ministries and the Children’s Pastor. This role is highly administrative; most work hours during the week are devoted to administration. The incumbent will also help provide leadership to Sunday morning ministries and all other TPC Kid programs/events.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Act as a data manager for TPC Kids by working with Church Management software (CCB)
  • Manage TPC Kids social media.
  • Partner with the People and Culture team to process, screen and integrate new volunteers.
  • Coordinate with Campus Operations for bookings and room set up.
  • Maintain the resource room and oversee inventory of supplies.
  • Print, package, and distribute curriculum and craft supplies for preschool and elementary.
  • Provide Sunday morning leadership and care to volunteers, children, and families.
  • Assist with Sunday morning check-in/out for families.
  • Develop and implement a visitor package and follow-up plan for families who have been absent over a lengthy period.
  • Oversee all communication and registration components of camps and special events.
  • General email communication with volunteers and parents
  • Other duties as assigned by the Children’s Pastor

Qualifications:

  • Deep and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ
  • Supports the Statement of Faith of The Peoples Church
  • A passion to help all children become gospel centred, grow through discipleship, and globally engaged.
  • Minimum 2 years working with children.
  • Administration work experience preferred.
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to plan, develop, organize, and carry out
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Servant leadership and teachable
  • Ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and change.

Working Conditions:

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check clearance required.
  • Interacts with others (children, parents, volunteers, staff)
  • Part time – Sundays included.
  • Some remote work may be required.
  • Sitting for long periods and repetitive work
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Support Statement of Faith principles
