Position Description

St. John’s hosts summer camps to serve the community of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for children to come and enjoy camp.

This year, we are looking to hire 6-8 summer students to help us with camp and children's ministry for the summer months. We are looking for 2-3 University students as well as 4-5 high school students.

Responsibilities for These Positions Include:

• Work alongside our Children and Youth Director, to help facilitate and execute a successful camp.
• Help with other church camps within the community.
• Help with the preparation and leading of the Summer Sunday Programme.
• Help prepare materials for camp such as set design, crafts, Bible stories and interactive activities.
• Learn how to work together with your peers to grow and lead others.
• Lead activities during the weeks of camp.
• Offer support to children with special needs.

Requirements:

• Experience volunteering or working in Children's Ministry is desired.
• Be compatible with the beliefs and practices of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
• Faithful and devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
• Honestly love God and desire to serve him by leading the children.
• Have a heart for helping children develop a true love for and relationship with the Lord.
