New Life Christian Church   (Scarborough ON)

New Life Christian Church is committed to building a vibrant and outward looking, Bible-believing community of faith in Toronto ON Canada. We are searching for an experienced Lead Pastor with the character, skills and vision to move us into the future.

The church began 23 years ago as a re-start from 2 merging congregations and has dual denominational connections (Be In Christ / Mennonite Brethren). Our building is located in Scarborough (Shepherd & Victoria Park area) but our congregation is made up of people from all across the GTA. We gather corporately on Sunday mornings for worship, teaching and fellowship together (most stay around for our fellowship meal following service).  Attendance averages 100 with a contemporary worship style.  The congregation represents a healthy diversity of age groups and cultural backgrounds. Cell group meetings throughout the week provide means for connection and discipleship. There is a high priority on being “family” to each other and caring.

We seek a Pastor with at least 5 years’ experience as a Lead Pastor who has served in a primary teaching role. Our preferred candidate is above all a devoted follower of Christ who invites people into the new life they are experiencing in Christ. We love our city and believe being situated in Toronto gives us boundless opportunity for ministry. We need a shepherd who shares this passion.  The Pastor we are looking for would have a clear preaching / teaching gifting, would be able to work in harmony with congregational leadership, possess proven ability in raising up and equipping new leaders, and is a person who is able to relate well to people of different ages and cultural backgrounds. A minimum of a degree in Biblical Studies or theology is required with additional levels of training an asset.

This is a full time position. Start date is flexible as we are more interested in finding the right person (a fall 2024 or early 2025 start date would be ideal). Compensation includes benefits, pension and expenses. Credentialing with both the Canadian Conference of the Mennonite Brethren (onmb.org) and The Be In Christ Church of Canada (beinchrist.ca) would be a condition of employment.
