Position Description

Camp Counsellor (Youth or Young Adult – Age 15+)

Purpose of Position:

Grace Church is looking to hire four Camp Counsellors for this summer: youth or young adult (age 15 or above)

Description and Expectations of Camp Counsellor Position:

• Work with and under the guidance of two Program Coordinators

• Willing to work under the guidance and supervision of the Grace Camp Director, Lead Pastor and Session members.

• Working with the Program Coordinators and fellow Counsellor to actively lead, plan, prepare, and participate in various summer ministries at Grace Church two weeks in advance: Vacation Bible School (one week/ Mon-Fri/ Half-day), Arts Camp (two weeks/ Mon-Fri/Full-day), Mixed Bag Camp (Two weeks Mon-Fri/Full-day), Olympics/Sports Camp (one week/ Mon-Fri/Full-day), and a clean up week.

• Actively participate in summer ministries Sunday Programs: Family Time and Sunday • Plan and prepare arts & crafts

• Prepare, distribute, and assist with snacks for children/youth • Engage children and youth in various games/ activities and Bible lessons

• Seek to positively invest in the lives of the youth and children • Provide supervision to children and youth

• Participate in staff meetings

• Be involved in the life and community of Grace Church West Hill

• Participate in Leadership Training Program(s) Qualifications and Characteristics:

• Leads a lifestyle that demonstrates Christ is at the center.

• Must exhibit a personal relationship with Jesus and embody characteristics that draw themcloser to Him.

• Able to work well with others and as a team

• Able to patiently lead/mentor youth/children and works well with youth and children

• Good relational skills

• Punctual, Reliable, responsible, productive, trustworthy, able to work well independently.

• Able to comprehensively teach the Bible to youth and children.

Duration:

9 weeks (June 17th-August 16th 2024) at approximately 40hrs a week for $17.50/hr.
