Church Background: 

LMBC was established in the North West Toronto in 1980.  The church membership comprises of 66 members whose roots are from the Caibbean and West Africa.  There is a desire to have the church reflect the multi-cultural community in the vicinity.  LMBC is a member church of the Canadian Baptist of Ontario and Quebec and the Jane-Finch Church Coalition.

Who We Are: 

We are a bible believing church that aspire to have a strong neighbourhood presence and to serve our community in collaboration with local mission partners.  Our congregation is predominantly made up of more mature adults but with potential for growth in the younger demographic.  We are seeking a pastor who can effectively communicate, relate, and maintain a vibrant ministry to engage and build up young families.  Our pastor retired after 35 years of service with passion and dedication to the church and the community.  The building is in a small plaza located close to a residential community and access to public transit.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Preach and teach the Word of God with enthusiasm and revelence. 
  • Equip and encourage the members to be actively involved in evangelism.   
  • Disciple and encourage members in their relationship, commitment, and service of the Lord Jesus Christ using spiritual gifts.   
  • Oversee the prayer ministry, bible studies and worship services.   
  • Provide pastoral care in times of celebrations, grief and stress of life for church members and families in the community.   
  • Work with church leaders to provide spiritual oversight fulfiling the church's mission.     
  • Train and disciple potential leaders.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  •  Experience working as a lead or associate pastor. 
  • Completed or completing theological training (preferred a master's degree) in a recognized        seminary/college. 
  • Biblically qualified as an Elder/Pastor as per 1 Timothy 3: 1-7, Titus 1: 6-9 and  1 Peter 5: 1-4.   
  • Must be ordained or be willing to.   
  • Able to relate to people outside of the church, relate the Christian faith and provide spiritual guidance  to them.
  • Biblically oriented.
