Position Description

This is your opportunity to grow in your leadership while also making a difference in the lives of people who do not yet know Jesus. Forward Church is a growing multi-site church based in Cambridge, Ontario. We are looking for a Community Engagement Intern who will specifically serve at our Cambridge location. This is a two year, half time (20 hours per week) internship.

As a part of our dynamic team, you will be surrounded with mentoring support and resources to help shape your future leadership in Christian ministry. 

In this role, you will:

• Create and oversee initiatives that will build bridges between our church and the community around us.
• Develop and lead teams of volunteers who will create welcoming environments and establish relationships with those outside the church.
• Connect and communicate with Forward's community partners.
• Work in partnership with other members of our team to connect people with opportunities to hear the Gospel of Jesus and engage in spiritual formation.

The person serving in this role must:

• Have strong administrative and people skills.
• Have a love for people outside of the church community.
• Have a desire and show intentional steps to move towards a future in Christian ministry leadership.

The person in this role must be able to agree with our Articles of Faith and Lifestyle Statement. Forward Church is a member of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada.
