The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Donor Care & Stewardship Coordinator who is a qualified and passionate individual. This position exists to support the execution of all annual stewardship initiatives and to provide exceptional customer service to YSM donors, sponsors, partners and prospects via telephone, email communications, and mailings.  As the first point of contact between YSM donors and supporters and the Philanthropy Department, this role demands high attention to detail, a solid understanding of the department and YSM, as well as the ability to respond to incoming donor letters, phone calls, emails and other forms of correspondence on a timely basis.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Database and Operations Manager of Philanthropy, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Primary point of contact for donors – managing inbound donor communications, ensuring exceptional donor experiences and fostering long term meaningful relationships
  • Conduct outbound donor service calls
  • Track and document donor inquiries, comments, and complaints in Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Receive inbound phone donations
  • Update donor records (information, communication preferences) as requested in Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Coordinate the outbound donor thank you calling process (list pulling from Raiser’s Edge NXT, developing script, hiring volunteers etc.)
  • Review stewardship communications pieces, including but not limited to welcome inserts, general donor insert, holiday cards, generic thank you letters, etc. on a regular basis to ensure its accuracy and validity and work with the Manager, Communications to update as required.
  • Ensure smooth day to day implementation of stewardship initiatives such as the tax receipt mailing, thank you letters by working closely with the Donations Processing Coordinator and Database & Operations Manager
  • Update procedure manuals as required

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and training:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Donor or customer service experience
  • High level of proficiency with Raisers Edge NXT or equivalent database, preferably at Administrator level. bCRE (Blackbaud Certification in Raiser’s Edge) would be an asset.
  • Minimum two years of data and gift entry experience combined with College diploma
  • Expert data entry skills; well versed in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in non-profit sector
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage deliverables and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Great attention to detail; highly-organized and systematic
  • Familiarity with fundraising practices, procedures, CRA Tax Guidelines,
  • Willingness to learn and to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
  • Capacity to handle confidential information appropriately

Additional:

  • A police check will be required
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to YSM’s principles of faith, mission and values
  • Able to provide flexibility in schedule where required
