Position type: Permanent, Part-time (10 hours / week; $18-22/hr)

Position Overview

The Ottawa Administrative Assistant supports the City Lead and team by enhancing communication and administrative tasks, processing volunteer applications with the Volunteer Coordinator, and managing the Connect Centre's operations. This includes volunteer coordination, inventory management, and maintaining a welcoming space for community engagement and spiritual growth.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible to achieve the following objectives:

  • Administrative and Operational Support: Support the City Team Leader by managing data, coordinating meetings, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring operational efficiency. 
  • Volunteer Coordination and Engagement: Oversee the volunteer application process, ensuring timely follow-ups and interviews, and maintaining up-to-date volunteer profiles.
  • Operational Management of Connect Centre: Ensure the smooth running of the Connect Centre by maintaining inventory, managing finances, and creating a welcoming environment. Implement effective operational procedures, manage staff and volunteer staff hours, and coordinate with the City Leader for event planning and execution.
  • Other Responsibilities: Active participation in weekly chapel services  and other ministry prayer / bible study times. Attendance and participation in the bi-annual International Day of Prayer. Manage special projects as assigned by Ottawa City Lead

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are able to use Google Suite or equivalent
  • You are creative aptitude and ability to use Canva or equivalent
  • You are able to use social media or willingness to learn
  • You have administrative skills, personally organized, good steward of time
  • You are self-motivated, team builder, able to work independently
  • You have a genuine desire to see people’s lives transformed by Jesus
  • You have skill in leading people spiritually regardless of spiritual context
  • You have the ability to relate well with Churches and other Christian organizations

Education and Experience

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field and/or previous administrative experience is essential.
