Position Description

"Serve Asia" is OMF Canada's short-term missions discipleship program. Under the supervision of our Lead Serve Asia Coordinator, you will work to screen, prepare, send and debrief those who’ve gone.

This role is situated in Canada, facilitating short-term missions trips from the Canadian homeside to the field. It can be full-time, part-time, or volunteer capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and know OMF Canada’s mobilization priorities and Serve Asia opportunities, and communicate with inquirers and field coordinators to ensure suitable placements.
  • Lead inquirers through the Serve Asia screening, placement and application process, affirming the value of missions discipleship and walking prayerfully in relationship with each inquirer.
  • Guide accepted applicants through the preparation stage of planning trip logistics, writing prayer letters and developing support, keeping field hosts informed of developments.
  • Provide Serve Asia orientation training prior to departure and debriefing within a month of return. Connect the Serve Asia Worker with the Mobilization Coordinator for follow up.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • A calling to mobilize Canadian Christians for increased missions engagement
  • A passion to see the unreached in this world reached with the gospel of Jesus
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a team or independently
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A self-starter, able to see what needs to be done to work as Col. 3: 23
  • Working familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong skills in organization, planning and attention to details

Living Situations

  • Must reside in or plan to reside in Canada as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Flexibility, a desire to work with a Canada-wide team and willingness to work and communicate remotely through Microsoft Teams and email.
  • Willing to work some weekends and weeknights.
  • Willing to occasionally travel within Canada.
  • Willing to travel to Asia occasionally to attend OMF International consultations and/or vision trips.
  • The approved candidate needs to raise prayer and financial support.
