Position Description

Role Summary
A vital part of the Knox Camp Lead Team, the Bible Leader is a spiritual leader who is passionate about making biblical truths clear and simple for children & youth to understand. A teacher and coordinator, this person must be organized and accountable. This person will report to & be supported by the LIT Director.

Competencies, Gifting and Qualifications
• Have a personal relationship with Jesus which is evident in a dedication to serve Him
• Experience working in (complex) camp environments, with a problem-solving and team-minded attitude
• Experience as a Bible teacher for children and youth ages 6-16 years old
• Agreement with and adherence to the Knox Church Lifestyle & Morality statement
• Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening

Areas of Responsibility
Pre-Camp | 3.5 Weeks
• Attend Lead Team training week(end) — dates will be communicated at interviews
• Plan all Day Camp Bible teaching & small group activities

Staff Training Days | 1 Saturday (0.25 Week) + 1 Week
• Lead Training Session: Bible Discovery Review & Training
• Provide leadership as required throughout the time that staff are being trained
• Help facilitate Commissioning Service with Coordinators & CCMC

Day Camp & Overnight | 7.25 weeks
• Coordinate Bible Discovery daily: activities, crafts, story-time, testimonies, etc
• Support Youth and Kids Coordinators on as-needed basis in program prep and facilitation
• Be on-the-ground point person and source of encouragement/feedback for all LITs
• At Overnight— role TBD, provide presence and leadership

Overnight Camp Preparation Days | 3 days (0.5 weeks)
• Assist CCMC with Bible Study/Small Group Time prep

Compensation & Fundraising
This role is a 12.5-week commitment.
Total Compensation: $ 6703 (approx $14.30/hr) + 4% vacation pay
