Position Overview
The AIA Regional Director will work with regional staff, coaches and volunteers to fulfill the mission of Athletes in Action through the implementation of Action Camps, Action Clubs and other community based sports initiatives. While their main sphere of focus is their region, they will team up with the Regional Directors across Canada with the purpose of working together to develop and implement relevant resources and strategies across the country.
They oversee and are responsible for the following areas: hiring and supervising the staff and volunteer team in their region; the operation of camps, clubs and sports initiatives in their region; managing the region’s budget; developing relationships with local churches and community sports groups.
- Position Type: Full Time or Part-Time (20 – 40 hours/week)

Primary Objectives:
- Provide oversight to programming in their region.
- Lead, Develop and Grow Regional Staff Team
- Collaborate with the team of Regional Directors on national topics
Required Skills and Abilities:
- You have a deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- You would be committed to Athletes in Actions’ leadership, methods and ministry models
- You have the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of ways (written, spoken, virtually)
- You have a working knowledge of Google’s G Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Sites)
- You have an understanding of and passion for the athletic world and the integration of faith and sports
- You have good time management, an ability to be flexible and willingness to take initiative
- You have the ability to relate well to churches, para-church organizations, athletic organizations and administrators
- You have the ability to lead others in areas of personal and spiritual development
*This position requires Ministry Partner Development where the successful candidate will be required to build a team which provides financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses including benefits coverage.
