Position Description

The Dawn Centre is looking for a Part-Time Finance Administrator. This is an opportunity for you to use your financial skills to support a not-for-profit Christian organization in downtown Galt. We are looking for part-time employment, approximately 6 hours bi-weekly, maximum 20 hours per month. The position would include flexible hours and a combination of from home and in-office work hours.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • payroll processing
  • bookkeeping (maintaining general ledger)
  • pay Supplier/Vendor bills and Manage PAP's
  • Customer Invoicing and Donation Receivables
  • Expense Reimbursements and Reconciliations
  • Government payroll remittance and filing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Basic system generated financial reporting
  • Audit preparation (in creating the working papers file).
  • Charitable receipt data to be recorded for annual receipting process
  • Agreement with Dawn Centre’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant

Experience

  • College diploma in business/bookkeeping or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a finance administrator or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, QuickBooks accounting software and online banking
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Previous experience with budgeting is preferred and general knowledge of donation, receipting, payroll and accounting
  • Knowledge of IT systems and practices is considered an asset
  • Experience working with a Christian charity as an employee, professional service provider, or volunteer
