Position Description

Part-time/bivocational (20 hours/week)

Role

Helping young adults at The Open Door become Kingdom builders through mentoring, leadership development and spiritual guidance.

Expectations 

• To be and become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ and live life accordingly.
• To relate to and support the spiritual growth of the young adults at The Open Door.
• Able to appreciate our relationship with Friendship House and participate with us.
• To be motivated and demonstrate flexibility and creativity.
• Meet with Ministerial Education,Guidance and Placement(MEGaP) credentials committee 
• Be a champion of young adults integrating into life at The Open Door

Responsibilities 

• Planning and implementing regular spiritual and social growth activities.
• Develop and participate in occasional Sunday worship along with the young adults.
• Report to the Board monthly.
• Work in collaboration with the senior pastor.
• Work with WhyNot City Missions youth
• Promote Jesus to the unchurched

Education 

Bible college/seminary with appropriate supporting credentials

Skill set

• Communication- relates to young people but is discerning and mature. 
• Able to communicate to the congregation
