Position Description

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Arts and Crafts Leader to oversee and conduct engaging arts and crafts activities for participants of various age groups. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, foster an inclusive and welcoming environment, and ensure activities are organized, safe, and fun.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and implement arts and crafts sessions tailored to the interests and skill levels of participants.
  • Provide instruction and guidance on a variety of creative techniques, including painting, sculpting, drawing, and crafting.
  • Source, prepare, and maintain all necessary materials and equipment for activities.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes creativity and individual expression.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring activities and maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace.
  • Manage budgets and inventory for arts and crafts supplies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to decorate the venue.
  • Evaluate participant feedback to improve future sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in arts and crafts instruction or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of arts and crafts techniques and materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude to accommodate participants of all ages and abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
  • Prior experience managing budgets and supplies is preferred.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Age requirement: 15 to 30 at the start of employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or possess refugee status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act during employment
  • Valid Social Insurance Number and legal eligibility to work in Canada
  • Alignment with ‘s Central’s Vision and Mission, collaborative teamwork, and commitment to high productivity and quality work
  • Passion for teaching children, with a focus on creating a fun and safe environment; certified first aid training is advantageous
  • Proficiency in planning and executing structured programs, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Vulnerable sector check is mandatory for all qualified candidates.

Term 

  • Date: July 7, 2025 – August 15, 2025
  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Hours: 30 hours per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
