The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator, Donations for a 1 year contract, who is a qualified and passionate individual. The Administrative Coordinator, Donations
will be responsible for the execution of all donations processing, with support from volunteers and placements students, and for providing exceptional customer service to YSM donors, sponsors, partners, and prospects via telephone, email communications, and mailings. This is a full-time contract, on-site role that demands high attention to detail, exceptional communication and organization skills, an excellent grasp of Raiser’s Edge NXT, as well as a sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Manager, Philanthropic Operations, Data Governance and Analysis, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Timely and accurate data entry and gift processing from all sources including cash/cheques, and online donations (CanadaHelps, Benevity, United Way, others) while ensuring appropriate documentation for financial reporting and CRA compliance
- Importing online donations into Raiser’s Edge NXT including management of mapping software (Omatic)
- Monthly recurring gift management and processing (credit cards and EFT)
- Recording and issuing accurate receipts of non-cash donations (gift-in-kind)
- Resolving discrepancies and gift adjustments as required
- Ensuring compliance with external and internal gift acceptance policy requirements
- Training and supervising volunteers and placement students on relevant business rules and ensure procedures are being followed
- Supporting annual and other audit preparation
- Maintaining the data integrity of Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Assisting with donor inquiries
- Updates to the procedure manuals as required
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have the following skills and training:
- High level of proficiency with Raisers Edge or equivalent database, preferably at Administrator level
- bCRE (Blackbaud Certification in Raiser’s Edge) would be an asset
- Minimum two years of data and gift entry experience combined with a College diploma
- Expert data entry skills; well-versed in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the non-profit sector
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage deliverables and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Great attention to detail; highly organized and systematic
- Familiarity with fundraising practices, procedures, CRA Tax Guidelines
- Willingness to learn and to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
- Capacity to handle confidential information appropriately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Additional:
- A police check will be required
- Demonstrated personal commitment to YSM’s principles of faith, mission and values
- Able to provide flexibility in schedule where required
Compensation:
YSM offers market competitive rates and will pay a starting salary of $47,371.37 for this role, combined with a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks.
