Position Description

The Housing Manager will oversee the daily operations of Fight4Freedom’s Safe House, ensuring it is a safe, stable, and empowering environment for survivors. This role combines property management with trauma-informed care coordination, leading a team to support residents in their recovery and reintegration journey.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Operations Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Safe House, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and adherence to occupancy regulations.
  • Manage house maintenance and repairs in coordination with contractors and vendors.
  • Maintain an organized system for inventory, supplies, and budget tracking.
  • Enforce house rules, policies, and schedules to promote communal harmony.

Resident Care & Support

  • Collaborate with the Survivor Care team to develop and monitor individualized support plans for residents.
  • Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution support as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and trauma-informed atmosphere aligned with Fight4Freedom’s values.
  • Coordinate resident move-ins, move-outs, and orientation processes.

Staff Supervision & Leadership

  • Supervise and support housing staff, volunteers, and interns assigned to the Safe House.
  • Provide regular team check-ins, scheduling, and performance feedback.
  • Facilitate ongoing training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and community living practices.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and confidential resident files and house records.
  • Work closely with community partners, case managers, and outreach workers to ensure wrap-around support.
  • Submit monthly reports to the Director of Survivor Care, including updates on residents, incidents, and maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in housing management, social services, or residential care.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and boundaries in community living environments.
  • Proven ability to manage crises and make sound, compassionate decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Preferred:

  • Degree or diploma in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with survivors of trafficking or gender-based violence.
  • Familiarity with Christian faith-based approaches to care and support.
  • CPR/First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification.
