Are you a passionate relationship-builder who thrives on connecting generous people to life-changing impact? Hope and Healing International is looking for a mission-aligned Major Gift Officer to join our team and help grow transformational giving. In this frontline fundraising role, you’ll personally engage with a portfolio of generous supporters, inviting them to invest in meaningful, Christ-centred work that restores dignity and possibility for children with disabilities in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of up to 150 committed and prospective donors with the capacity to give $10,000 or more annually, with a goal of raising a minimum of $1,500,000 per year. You’ll proactively plan and carry out tailored engagement strategies—building relationships, inspiring giving, and stewarding donors with excellence.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of up to 150 major gift donors and prospects
- Plan and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for gifts of $10,000+
- Conduct regular in-person donor meetings and regional outreach visits, while maintaining consistent communication through email, phone, and mail
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for gifts of $10,000+
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare compelling, personalized proposals, impact reports, and donor communications
- Personally solicit major gifts through thoughtful, values-based conversations and strategic follow-up
- Track all interactions, move management, and pipeline activity using CRM software (Studio Enterprise)
- Monitor and meet key performance indicators related to visits, asks made, dollars raised, and donor retention
- Partner with organizational leadership and program staff to align funding needs with donor interests
- Represent Hope and Healing International at key donor functions and events as required
- Performing other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Our ideal candidate would have:
- College/University education preferred or a combination of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in major gift fundraising or high-value relationship-based sales.
- CFRE designation is an asset
- Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts or deals from individuals and institutions
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills; able to build trust and communicate vision and impact
- Motivated self-starter with a disciplined, proactive approach to prospecting and stewardship
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems and donor database management
- Knowledge of international development and/or disability inclusion is an asset
- Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and willingness to travel regularly across assigned regions

Working conditions and other requirements:
- Hybrid work model: office presence in Richmond Hill with flexible remote work options
- Frequent travel required for donor engagement (approximately 1–2 days per week)
- Occasional evening or weekend work to support events or donor availability
- Domestic or international travel may be required periodically
