Position Description

The Point Church in beautiful Bathurst, New Brunswick, is seeking a full-time Next Gen Pastor. We are a fast-growing, vibrant, contemporary church, that is preparing to launch a second service to facilitate continued impact in our community. Where we are seeing the most significant increase is with families with children, teens, and young adults. This is where you come in!

If God is leading you here, you will step into a role where your creative and visionary abilities will be allowed to shine. Leading a group of willing and capable volunteers (we are very blessed!) you can craft a wholistic ministry encompassing everything from the cradle to the college graduate. Our facility has been recently renovated and upgraded so there is potential to dream big, backed by a healthy budget, and did we mention a wonderful group of volunteers?! Currently, our KidsPoint program (ages pre-school to grade 5) averages approx. 35 children each week (and growing!). WayPoint, our youth program, serves approx. 60 teens and WayPoint+ which is a youth Bible Study, serves approx. 20 youth each week.

We are seeking an individual who has a heart for families, and a passion for raising up this next generation into fully devoted followers of Christ. You will not be micro-managed, so a self-starter with the ability to manage time and resources effectively is a must. The goal is to lead our leaders, not to be the person leading every program! You will be given great creative license, encouraged to dream big, and be mentored with care and respect. The compensation package is competitive and includes full health and dental benefits, matching retirement contributions, and paid vacation. A college degree is not necessarily required, but aptitude, ability, passion, a solid relationship with Jesus, and a demonstrable knowledge of the role, is a must.

Bathurst offers an incredible quality of life. It is a year-round mecca for outdoor activities. Wonderful beaches and boardwalks, hiking and biking trails, rivers to kayak, and hills to climb. We have some of the best snowmobile and ATV trails in the entire country, hunting, fishing, and incredible views everywhere you look. Community events are happening year-round with high quality performers and entertainers and incredible community participation. Our church has a reputation as being ‘the’ church known for our leadership and impact in caring for our community with special events like Family Fun Days, Trunk-or-Treat, Kids Camps, etc.
