Position Description

DEPARTMENT: International 
LOCATION:  Remote, Canada

The Alliance Canada is a vibrant, growing evangelical denomination, committed to serving Jesus and His mission. With a dedicated team of over a thousand, the Alliance Canada supports hundreds of affiliated local churches across Canada as well as active global outreach ministries in approximately 40 countries.

OPPORTUNITY

The Project Coordinator plans, executes, and oversees all food aid projects related to Canada Foodgrains Bank to improve food security and distribution of The Alliance Canada accounts. Collaborates with districts, local churches, and farmers/agriculturists to implement CFGB initiatives. This role engages The Alliance Canada by promoting resources and coaching to help the alliance Canada minister to those in need. Additionally, the coordinator manages all Food Aid Programs in the district, ensuring compliances with Donor, CFGB and Alliance Canada guidelines, and networks with relief agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Program Management: Oversee and manage one or more programs alongside CFGB personal, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission and goals. 
  • Fundraising and Budgeting: Coordinate fundraising efforts and manage program budgets to ensure financial sustainability. 
  • Community Outreach: Develop and implement community outreach strategies to engage stakeholders and promote the organization’s programs. 
  • Event Planning: Create and manage an event calendar, organizing events that support program objectives. 
  • Performance Measurement: Monitor and evaluate program performance, making adjustments to optimize outcomes. 
  • Partnerships: Work with farmers/agriculturists and districts on special events and initiatives to publicize the organization and its programs. Facilitate Partnership expansion and relationships. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare program materials, reports, and documentation as required. 
  • Communication: Manage global internal and external communications related to the program. 

GERF Responsibilities: Support the International Strategy Director for Relief and Development in crafting and disseminating compelling, story-based communications that demonstrate how Global Emergency Relief Funds (GERF) have been used to aid local communities following disasters. This role involves gathering field reports, developing narratives that highlight impact and transformation, and ensuring transparent, timely feedback to local churches and stakeholders. The Communications Coordinator will play a key role in fostering accountability and strengthening trust through clear, empathetic storytelling.  

The Alliance Equity Program at the CFGB 

  • Develop project proposals for CFGB and liaison with CFGB program Officer. 
  • Promote the CFGB program – enhance awareness for the CFGB program within The Alliance Canada. 
  • Oversee the allocation of funds from the CFGB account of Alliance Canada to International Workers and International partners. 
  • Oversee all food assistance programming of Alliance Canada account with CFGB. 
  • Create and review project proposals and liaise with CFGB program officer. 
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all interim, annual, and final project reports before submitting them to the CFGB program officer. 
  • Occasionally visit target programs to gather their insights and experience, aiding in the planning and development of relevant, sustainable programs. 
  • Develop resources to support International Workers in CFGB food Programming as required. 
  • Ensure compliance with CFGB’s protocols in proposal writing, project management, and reporting systems. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

  • Extensive exposure to food aid programs (minimum 10 years) 
  • Proven organizational planning and managerial skills 
  • Demonstrate ability in the design and effective use of training materials     
  • Stays open to internal and external feedback 
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision 
  • In-depth knowledge of community development 
  • Report writing skills, and ability in public speaking, presentations, networking, recruitment 
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite computer application 
  • Well-developed stakeholder networking and coordination skills 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required 
  • Applicants must be licensed with The Alliance Canada or be willing to pursue licensing. We invite candidates to review our  statement of faith 
  • Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel occasionally, both nationally and internationally, as required by the role.
