As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Healthcare provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of the delivery and execution of healthcare related programs delivered by More Than A Roof Group of Societies. This role is crucial in driving the development of new business opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and enhancing the organization's reputation and impact in the healthcare-based housing sector.

Weekly Hours: F/T 40 hrs
Direct reports: Program Coordinators, 18th Street Assoc. Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Leadership
- Work with senior leadership to develop a comprehensive plan that outlines long-term goals, priorities, and initiatives in healthcare-based housing initiatives.
- Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain funding, program support, clients, and stakeholders.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of healthcare programs and initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, healthcare providers, government agencies, health authorities, and industry partners.
Resource Management
- Ensure efficient and effective use of resources, including financial, human, and technological assets.
- Oversee budget planning and management to support the implementation of strategic initiatives, direct resources and ensure budget compliance by program staff.
- Lead all healthcare contract review and renewal processes
- Direct, plan and coordinate the work of the program staff including supervision and evaluation, training and team building.
Programs Delivery
- Responsible for oversight, implementation and operation of new and/or existing programs across departments and communities.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
- Ensure standardization of practice, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness
- Represent More Than A Roof in the health service community with civic/provincial governments, health authorities or others as required
- Facilitate program compliance with Healthcare Contracts, WCB, Community Care Act, RTA, Collective Agreement, and others
- Serve as a primary contact for the divisions managing the service delivery aspects of each program including hiring, and representing the employer at meetings as required
WHO YOU ARE:
Knowledge and Skills
- A proven team leader with demonstrated supervisory, administrative, and entrepreneurial skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to deal with a broad range of associates, professionals and tenants and build their trust
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant federal and provincial healthcare programs and funding requirements including all policies and procedures, operating agreements, budgets and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of current social issues such as homelessness, addiction, mental health and poverty is an asset
- A valid BC Driver's License and a reliable vehicle for use in performance of duties
- Positive outlook, common sense and a ready sense of humor are definite assets
- Seeks out opportunities for innovation, and will consult with colleagues and stakeholders, also acts as a champion for new processes.
Qualifications
- University degree in business administration, project management or related field, or an equivalent of education and experience, plus a minimum three years of relevant experience in a healthcare related field
- Working knowledge of the mental health care and addiction recovery system
- Experience in the non-profit sector
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. (MS 365 Environment)
- Solid organizational and administrative ability with attention to detail
- Effective oral and written communication skills
