About the Role:

Joy Bible Camp is seeking a full-time Catering & Food Service Supervisor to join our team and support our mission of “Lives changed … Forever!” through Christ-centred hospitality. This role is perfect for someone passionate about serving others, leading teams, and providing high-quality food experiences for groups of 10–250 guests. The supervisor will work under the direction of the Food Service Manager—or independently in their absence—to ensure excellence in meal preparation, presentation, and service while fostering a positive, faith-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee catering and food service operations, ensuring meals are appealing, well-balanced, nutritious, and served on schedule.
  • Prepare meals, baked goods, and specialized dietary options, including therapeutic diets, ensuring equitable quality alternatives.
  • Plan menus, provide feedback, and suggest ideas to maintain relevance and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Manage volunteers, interns, summer staff, and team members, fostering a positive, welcoming, and respectful work environment.
  • Ensure kitchens, dining areas, and service stations are clean, organized, and compliant with Public Health regulations and Food Safe guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain proper temperatures for coolers, freezers, and dishwashers; manage inventory; and properly store and reuse leftovers while minimizing waste.
  • Identify challenges, anticipate risks, and reorganize workflows to maintain timely, safe, and efficient food service.
  • Deliver excellent guest service, responding promptly to needs while maintaining a warm, professional atmosphere.
  • Work most weekends during guest rentals and maintain flexibility in a seven-day workweek, with scheduled days off based on operational needs.

Spiritual Leadership & Hospitality:

  • Model Christ in word, deed, and action, reflecting Joy Bible Camp’s mission, purpose, core values, and strategic plan.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to direct reports, interns, summer staff, and volunteers.
  • Pray for the ministry, guests, and team, fostering a culture of faith and spiritual growth.
  • Maintain Christ-like hospitality, ensuring guests experience a welcoming, respectful, and encouraging environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in temperatures ranging from 30°–100°.
  • Desire to grow in culinary and supervisory skills while serving the Lord through hospitality.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage volunteers, and cultivate a culture of collaboration, respect, and excellence.
  • Must obtain an Ontario Food Handlers Certificate within two weeks of hire and comply with all public health regulations.

Physical & Work Requirements:

This is a physically demanding role requiring long hours, especially during peak season (July–August) and weekends with guest groups.

Flexibility to work outside standard duties, including on-call responsibilities, is required.
