Reports to: Executive Director
Salary Range: $25,000 - 27,500/year (depending on experience)
About Kentro Christian Network
Kentro Christian Network is a network of 70+ organizations and individuals that are based in Canada and working to address global poverty and injustice from a Christ-centred perspective. Together, we strengthen collaboration across Canada’s faith community to advance both local and international development and humanitarian work.
This position supports a funded project that aims to equip and mobilize Christian communities to engage in international assistance with unity, credibility, and impact.
Role Summary
The Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening Kentro’s relationships across Canada’s Christian community and mobilizing collective action around global compassion and international assistance. This role is part of a funded project that includes reporting to an external funder and documenting learnings for that project against specific Key Project Outcomes, which can be found at the end of this document.
Working closely with the Project Team, including the Marketing Partner and Kentro staff, particularly the Executive Director, the Coordinator will support the development and implementation of a faith-sector engagement strategy focused on Evangelical denominations, church leaders, and other like-minded Christian organizations. This includes cultivating trusted partnerships, coordinating research and outreach events, and representing the campaign at national and regional Christian gatherings.
The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of Canadian Evangelical culture and communications, along with a heart for unity and collaboration within the Church. They will combine strategic relationship-building and project management skills with a strong theological grounding to help align messaging, mobilize new audiences, and amplify the Christian voice in public advocacy for global justice.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Denominational Partnerships
- Support Kentro’s Marketing Partner to develop and implement a Key Denominational Engagement Plan targeting five Evangelical denominations.
- Work with Kentro’s Executive Director to build strategic relationships with denominational leaders, pastors, and other like-minded Christian organizations to foster shared messaging on international assistance.
- Interview/ gather stories, quotes, or feedback from faith leaders/Kentro members.
- Work with the Project Team to facilitate two research presentations and leader engagement events to share insights and promote collective action.
Strategic Faith Community Engagement
- Work with the Project Team to organize and represent the campaign at a minimum of five Evangelical/Christian events (e.g., youth conferences, provincial prayer breakfasts) with a combined reach of 1,000–25,000+ attendees. (Travel within Canada required, with occasional availability on evenings and weekends.)
- Support the Executive Director in outreach to new audiences within the Christian community, including existing Kentro members, young leaders and culturally diverse churches.
Mobilization & Public Advocacy
- Coordinate public mobilization campaigns tied to key moments (e.g., National Prayer Breakfast). NOTE: All advocacy will be non-partisan and compliant with Canadian charitable regulations
Research & Metrics
- Collecting and maintaining accurate data on faith community contacts.
- Tracking engagement metrics across events, meetings, and partner activities and submitting monthly KPI inputs.
- Work with Kentro’s Marketing Partner to produce two research briefs summarizing audience insights, attitudes, and recommendations tailored for strategic Christian audiences.
Internal Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with Kentro’s Marketing Partner to align messaging and asset production, as well as tracking engagement metrics.
- Provide insights and leadership in strategic planning and reporting to the Executive Director and partners.
- Special projects that strengthen the mandate of Kentro, as required.
Spiritual & Personal Development
- Participate in weekly and monthly prayer times
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, partnership development, advocacy, or stakeholder relations — preferably within Christian organizations, denominations, or networks.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with denominational leaders, pastors, and faith-based organizations.
- Deep familiarity with Canadian Evangelical culture and institutions — including church structures, Christian post-secondary networks, and media channels.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills — able to speak with credibility to both ministry and public audiences.
- Proven project management and coordination skills, with experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Strategic thinking and initiative, capable of turning insights and research into actionable engagement plans.
- Theological literacy and ability to discuss international aid, justice, and compassion through a biblical and Christ-centred lens.
- Comfortable representing a Christian network with diverse denominational perspectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with digital tools for collaboration (e.g., Asana, Zoom).
- Strong data management skills and CRM experience - Salesforce preferred.
- A self-starter who thrives in collaborative, networked environments.

This role supports the Strategic Goal and Outcomes of the funded project, which are:
Strategic Goal: Working with Kentro members in the faith based international development sector to build the capacity of the community to 1) communicate about the impact and value of international assistance 2) Engage the organizations' supporters in advancing work in global health and development.
Outcome 1: Put the importance of Canada’s investment into global health on the target audience’s (self-identified Christians and those that work for Kentro member organizations) agenda nationwide and wisely, openly, and candidly challenge common misperceptions that have been identified in the research stage.
Outcome 2: Nurture interest in Canada’s investment in overall international aid (ODA) among the target audience with compelling stories and interactive experiences.
Outcome 3: Convert engagement of the target audience into active and vocal support for Canada’s investment in global health and overall international assistance.
