Position Description
The Summer Worship Leader & Ministry Research Coordinator is a dynamic seasonal role designed to foster spiritual growth and community engagement within the community of Sauble Beach. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading worship services, as well as coordinating and assessing possibilities for outreach and community building throughout the summer months. This position requires a passion for worship, organizational skills, a commitment creating welcoming, inclusive experiences and creativity and willingness to try new things and inspire and coordinate the participation of the congregation. Musical ability &/or technical ability would be an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Worship Leadership: Prepare, lead, and oversee weekly worship services, including liturgy planning, music selection, coordination of refreshments for services and music &/or technical staff/volunteer.
- Event Possibilities: Conceive and find staff/volunteers to execute trial events such as pop-up BBQs, outreach programs, Bible study and/or coffee & conversation with a minister. Ask in worship, weekly, if there is interest in more than Sunday get togethers and facilitate the same.
- Communication: Promote worship services within the community with flyers & social media.
- Setup & Logistics: Manage the setup and takedown of venues for all services and events.
- Safety & compliance: Ensure all activities follow the Presbyterian Church of Canada church policies and "Leading with Care" health & safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in worship leading or event planning (volunteer or paid).
- Familiarity with different worship styles. Musical ability would be an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead staff and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community.
- Basic proficiency with audio/visual equipment and social media platforms is an asset.
- Minister/Ministry student.
- Current vulnerable sector police check.
Terms of Employment
- Duration: Seasonal, May long weekend to Labour Day weekend.
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Compensation: Salary to be determined, commensurate with experience.
- Location: Based at Huron Feathers Presbyterian Centre, in Sauble Beach
- Use of cottage to live in and and van to use for term of employment.
- Assist in hiring of 2-3 staff for helping throughout the 8 weeks of July and August.
