Integrated Practicum Director
Cambridge, Ontario , N3C3T2
Position Description
Job Location: Heritage Campus
Reports To:VP of Academics
About Heritage College & Seminary
Heritage College & Seminary exists to glorify God by partnering with churches in providing a biblically based education equipping men and women for life and ministry in the church and in the world.
Formed in 1993 from the merger of two respected institutions, Heritage has a rich history in providing academic excellence in the delivery of programs that help to shape biblical insight. The school is a place of worship that celebrates and cultivates God-given talents that make it possible for its graduates to Major in the Word of God, so they can help churches make a world of difference.
About the Role
Heritage College & Seminary is seeking a full-time Integrated Practicum Director (IPD). Reporting to the VP of Academics, this position plays a key role in supporting the mission of Heritage College & Seminary in providing leadership and oversight to the Integrated Practicum Project – a dynamic partnership ensuring the practical training and equipping of Heritage students who aspire to serve in pastoral leadership or serve in other church and parachurch leadership roles.
The IPD will design, implement, manage, and evaluate this initiative in collaboration with faculty and partner churches, and in accordance with academic policies, curriculum standards and Heritage approval processes.
The objective is to create an integrated educational model that bridges classroom learning with practical ministry experience. This model will ensure that the academic knowledge and tools gained in the classroom are effectively translated into biblically faithful ministry competencies, skills and character demonstrated within the local church context. While every internship will have a standard core that satisfies Heritage academic standards, the successful candidate will work with students and churches to tailor and contextualize internship proposals that will satisfy the needs and requirements of Heritage, the church and the individual’s particular calling/training.
Working closely with church leaders and Heritage faculty, the IPD will establish a high-quality internship experience for students with defined clear learning outcomes by gathering assessment data, assessing student performance in ministry settings, and facilitating a continuous feedback process between the church and the seminary. The development and refinement of these outcomes will be continuous in collaboration with program faculty, church leaders and in alignment with Heritage curriculum. This feedback loop will help identify and address learning gaps, ensuring a cohesive and effective educational experience that equips students for faithful and skilled ministry.
The successful candidate will embody and uphold Heritage’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Doctrinal and Identity Statements while fostering a collaborative, encouraging, and Christ-honouring environment.
This position requires regular travel using a personal vehicle.
