Position Description

Bayview Glen Church exists to help people experience God’s love and their created purpose. We are seeking a relational, mission-driven Connect Director to lead and develop teams that create a welcoming, intentional, and Christ-centred Sunday experience.

This role provides leadership and vision to our Connect ministry, ensuring that every person, whether first-time guest or long-time attender, experiences the truth that Everybody’s Somebody and is invited into deeper connection and discipleship.

  • Position Status: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
  • Reports to: Discipleship and Leadership Development Pastor
  • Oversees: Hospitality Coordinator, Connect Coordinator, Connect Teams
  • Works closely with: Community Ministry Team, Communications Team, SERVE Coordinator

Position Summary

The Connect Director provides strategic leadership to Bayview Glen Church’s Connect teams, building healthy SERVE culture, equipping leaders, and ensuring a consistent Sunday experience that reflects our commitment to Jesus First, Better Together, and God Gets Our Best.

Roles & Specific Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Cast vision and build a strong, values-driven culture across all Connect teams.
  • Develop, coach, and care for team leaders and volunteers.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Hospitality Coordinator and Connect Coordinator.
  • Ensure volunteers are aligned with BGC’s mission, values, and discipleship pathway.

Sunday Morning Experience

  • Oversee the full Sunday Connect experience from “curb to connection.”
  • Ensure excellence, warmth, and clarity across all Connect touchpoints.
  • Lead or delegate pre-service team huddles that foster community and spiritual formation.
  • Monitor team effectiveness and alignment with standard operating procedures.

Training & Systems

  • Ensure effective onboarding, training, and scheduling systems are in place.
  • Collaborate with the Connect Coordinator on Planning Center systems and volunteer care.
  • Partner with the Hospitality Coordinator to ensure teams are resourced and supported.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the SERVE Coordinator to create clear next-step pathways.
  • Partner with Community Ministry and Communications teams to ensure accurate messaging.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Discipleship and Leadership Development Pastor for support and evaluation.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for Sundays, evenings, and occasional special events.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
