Position Description

Lion’s Mane Ministry seeks a Spirit-led, musically gifted, and technically proficient Music Director to lead the musical dimension of our television programming. This role is central to shaping the sound and worship atmosphere of Gospel Television broadcasts—through original composition, live performance coordination, and spiritual leadership. The ideal candidate will blend musical excellence with a heart for ministry, ensuring every note glorifies God and resonates with our audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Music Composition & Arrangement
• Compose and arrange original music for television programs, including intros, transitions, background scores, and thematic segments.
• Adapt existing worship songs for various formats (live, pre-recorded, instrumental, choral, multilingual).
• Musician & Vocalist Coordination
• Recruit, schedule, and rehearse with musicians, vocalists, and worship teams for studio recordings and live broadcasts.
• Provide musical direction during rehearsals and tapings to ensure excellence and spiritual authenticity.

Production Collaboration

• Work closely with producers, editors, and directors to align musical elements with program themes and emotional tone.
• Manage music licensing, rights clearance, and ensure compliance with copyright laws.

Audio Oversight

• Collaborate with audio engineers to ensure high-quality sound mixing and mastering.
• Maintain a digital library of music assets for use across multiple programs and platforms.

Spiritual Leadership

• Cultivate a Christ-centered culture among musicians and creative teams.
• Ensure all musical content aligns with the theological and spiritual values of Lion’s Mane Ministry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Diploma In Music Performance (Piano)
• Proven experience in music direction, composition, and arrangement—preferably in a broadcast, church, or media ministry context.
• Proficiency in music production tools (e.g., Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to guide diverse teams of musicians and creatives.
• Deep understanding of Christian worship music, hymnody, and contemporary gospel styles.
• Ability to read and write music; proficiency in at least one instrument (keyboard, guitar, etc.) preferred.
• Familiarity with television production workflows and timelines is an asset.
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Christian media ministry

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $55,000 – $70,000 CAD, commensurate with experience
