Position Description

Purpose and Scope

Camp Kwasind, a ministry of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario & Quebec is a Christian Camp that seeks, develops and nurtures Christian faith and relationships through effective programs in a safe, exciting, and natural environment. It is our aim to be a living demonstration of God’s love which is demonstrated through our care for all of creation, providing quality programming, and the intentional reaching out to those on route to Jesus as we live as a community of faith.

The Cabin Leader role is focused on the mentoring, intentional care, spiritual investment, and safety of each camper in their cabin. Cabin Leaders set the tone and determine the culture of their cabin and contribute to the culture of their section. Cabin leaders support the Action Team (program, waterfront, maintenance, office, etc.) through leading and managing their cabin group, bringing enthusiasm to every activity, and helping other departments where needed. Cabin Leaders lead their campers by example, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed. Their goal is to provide a Christ-centred, safe and fun atmosphere for campers and staff. They also attend daily Cabin Leader meetings and participate in staff Bible Study times.

Qualifications:

  • A mature faith in Jesus Christ and an active part of a local church.
