Position Description

Looking for a great leadership and learning opportunity? Want to do something that makes a lasting impact in the lives of some kids? This is a 35 hour/week, Monday-Friday position lasting from June 1st - August 19th, 2026. The successful candidate will work closely with our Day Cam Senior Director to ensure the success of our 4 week summer Day Camp program, with a specific focus on managing our Leaders-in-Training (LiT) program. 

As LiT Director, you'll hire, train, support, organize and evaluate the volunteer youth who assist in our four weeks of Day Camp in July and August. That means you'll: 

Manage a team of 8-10 youth volunteers (LiTs) per week - 30+ in total - who will be assisting the paid camp counsellors as they care for our campers. This involves team-building, communicating, scheduling, training, supporting and evaluating. 

You'll create and lead a well-organized leadership development program that will include youth with diverse backgrounds from our community and church family. You will also create and implement a feedback/evaluation process for your team. 

You'll train youth volunteers (LiTs), in conjunction with the Day Camp Senior Director, to provide safe and proper care and programming for the children. You'll create and implement a quality, week-long leadership training schedule for the LiTs with goals and objectives. 

You'll work with adult volunteers to help support the camp program as well as liaise with the various coordinators of those teams. You'll sub in for the Senior Director if needed, and you'll do other stuff we might think up at the time. 

You'll need to bring your faith - we're looking for someone who is a follower of Jesus whose life reflects the teaching, values and love of Jesus for all people. You'll need a servant heart, good administrative skills and a sense of humour (we're into fun around here).
