Schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Wednesdays (weekly) and must be available for all production meetings
The Role: Director
The Christian Broadcasting Associates, Inc. (CBA) is seeking a highly skilled Director to advise on and participate in all aspects of pre-production and production, as well as lead during filming days. The ideal candidate will have experience directing multi-camera, multi-format shows, balancing live studio production with pre-recorded or virtual segments. You will help guide the creative vision and ensure each episode delivers an engaging and impactful experience. This role requires strong creative vision, exceptional leadership, and the ability to perform well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct live-to-tape and pre-recorded segments from script to final broadcast, including in-studio interviews, Zoom interviews, and testimonies.
- Participate in pre-production planning to help shape the overall look of the show.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Producer, Writer, Co-Hosts, and crew to execute the show’s vision and ensure each episode flows seamlessly.
- Make real-time creative and technical decisions during live-to-tape recordings.
- Oversee camera blocking, lighting, sound, and graphics integration.
- Ensure the show meets broadcast standards, adheres to faith-based messaging, and maintains a professional, uplifting tone.
As the ideal candidate, you will have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in a broadcast environment, directing multi-camera programs, including live broadcast or daily pre-recorded shows.
- Deep understanding of live recording production workflows, multi-camera setups, and post-production processes.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience directing broadcast television, including live broadcasts, live-to-tape, and pre-recorded programs.
- A degree in Television/Film Production, Post-Production, or equivalent experience.
- Be well organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good command of the English language with the ability to communicate professionally with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with faith-based programming is preferred.
