The Role: Control Room Switcher
The Christian Broadcasting Associates, Inc. (CBA) is looking for a highly skilled Control Room Switcher to operate the video switcher and oversee the technical flow of our show. You will work closely with the Director, Camera Operator, Lighting Director/DP, and crew to ensure the seamless execution of both live-to-tape and pre-recorded segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the video switcher during live-to-tape and pre-recorded segments, executing camera transitions, graphics, and visual effects.
- Collaborate with the Director to follow shot calls, timing, and the overall flow of each episode.
- Integrate in-studio cameras, remote/Zoom feeds, and pre-recorded footage smoothly.
- Monitor video quality and troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
- Assist in coordinating graphics, overlays, and on-screen elements for a polished broadcast.
- Participate in pre-production meetings to anticipate technical requirements, if required.
- Maintain and troubleshoot control room equipment, ensuring all systems are operational.
As the ideal candidate, you will have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Control Room Switcher, Technical Director, or similar role in multi-camera or live-to-tape television production.
- Strong understanding of video switchers, graphics integration, and live production workflows.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
- Comfortable collaborating with Directors, Producers, and technical teams.
- Familiarity with integrating remote/virtual feeds (Zoom or similar platforms).
- A degree in Television/Film Production, or equivalent experience.
- Good command of the English language with the ability to communicate professionally with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with faith-based programming is preferred.
