About Circle Square Ranch Grand River

Circle Square Ranch Grand River is a Christian summer camp ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. Our mission is to see young people transformed into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ through intentional community, outdoor adventure, and Christ-centred programming.

Position Overview

In concert with the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada — the transformation of youth, students, and graduates into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ — the Canteen Manager oversees the daily operation of the camp canteen while supporting key ministry and program logistics.

This role combines organization, leadership, and service, helping ensure camp runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Camp Responsibilities

  • Clean, organize, and stock the canteen in preparation for retreats and summer camp
  • Complete inventory and prepare ordering systems
  • Learn and manage point-of-sale systems

Canteen Operations

  • Oversee daily canteen set-up and tear-down
  • Manage weekly inventory and purchasing
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the canteen space
  • Coordinate staff who are assigned to assist in the Canteen.
  • Manage tuck returns and staff payments as required
  • Manager camper mail/package organization and distribution

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and support volunteers
  • Attention to detail and reliability
  • Comfort handling money and inventory systems
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist in a variety of camp roles
  • Previous retail, camp, or leadership experience is an asset

Contract Details

Contract Start Date: Flexible - as early as May 4th, and no later than June 1st
Contract End Date: September 2nd
Spring Schedule (Up to June 27th): Tuesday – Saturday, possible some Sunday mornings
Summer Schedule (June 29th – September 2nd): Sunday 2pm – Friday 8pm.
Compensation: $250 (minimum) weekly honorarium + enrollment in Summer Missions fundraising program.
Room & Board: Included as part of compensation
