Position Overview

In concert with the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada — the transformation of youth, students, and graduates into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ — the Impact Team Lead provides leadership, encouragement, and spiritual support to summer staff.

This role focuses on walking closely with Impact Team members through discipleship, mentorship, and intentional relationship-building, while also supporting program flow and staff care throughout the summer. The Impact Team Lead plays a key role in fostering a healthy, Christ-centred staff culture where individuals feel supported, valued, and equipped to serve.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Care & Discipleship

  • Provide ongoing encouragement, mentorship, and support to Impact Team members
  • Meet weekly one-on-one with each Impact staff member to check in on well-being, placement, and workload
  • Offer guidance, prayer, and problem-solving support as needed
  • Communicate concerns, observations, and placement feedback to the Director of Program

Staff Engagement & Encouragement

  • Coordinate the weekly staff encouragement card system, including posting reminders, collecting cards, and distributing them
  • Help cultivate a positive, supportive, and unified staff environment
  • Support relational connection and morale throughout the summer

Operational & Program Support

  • Collect weekly reports and required paperwork from department heads, including camper surveys, counsellor feedback lists, and incident reports
  • Supervise Monday and Wednesday staff dinners, helping maintain a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere
  • Provide staff coverage when additional time off is required (approximately 4–5 hours per week)
  • Assist with daily routines, transitions, and program facilitation as needed

Leadership Team Involvement

  • Participate fully in key camp and ministry times, including devotions, meals, campfire, lantern time, and staff meetings
  • Collaborate closely with Leadership, Program and Impact Teams to support smooth camp operations
  • Model professionalism, flexibility, and Christ-like leadership in all areas of camp life

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • A strong heart for discipleship and staff care
  • Emotional maturity and strong interpersonal skills
