Position Description

Job Title: Youth & LIT Pastor 
Reports To: Lead Pastor and Next Gen Pastor
Location: Pickering, Ontario
Status: Full Time (40 hours) - or - Part Time (32 hours)

Position Summary

The Youth Pastor provides spiritual leadership for students in Grades 7–12 and oversees the Leader-in Training (LIT) program for young adults (ages 18–20). This person cultivates personal and group spiritual growth, disciples and equips young leaders, organizes community and in-house engagement, and helps students actively live out their faith.

Roles & Responsibilities

A. Spiritual (Personal & Group Growth)

  • Model and foster a life of prayer, Scripture, and Spirit-led living.
  • Lead midweek services with Bible teaching and worship for youth (Jr. and Sr. High, and 18-20’s).
  • Develop and implement long-term discipleship paths for Jr. High and High School Students.
  • Oversee Jr. High Sunday class biweekly.
  • Partners with parents in supporting students’ faith journeys by building relationships.

B. Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor adult and student leaders.
  • Equip youth to serve in broad church ministries using their gifts.
  • Ensure compliance with Plan to Protect and PPC safety standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings and strategic ministry planning with leadership teams.
  • Create and develop ministry plans (a semester at a time) taking into consideration church mission, vision, Next Gen. budget, ministry personnel needs, etc.

C. LIT Training (Ages 18–20)

  • Mentor LIT participants in spiritual growth and ministry skills.
  • Provide real serving opportunities within PPC ministries.
  • Lead leadership and character-building sessions.
  • Create and develop ministry plans (complete year at a time) taking into consideration church mission, vision, ministry personnel needs, etc.
  • Government grant writing, acquisition, and budget allocation.

D. Social Engagements & Events

  • Plan monthly events, March Break outings, and summer socials.
  • Organize the annual Youth Retreat with full oversight.
  • Encourage involvement in district events and camps (Conventions, camps, leadership training, planning meetings, etc.).

E. Community Outreach

  • Maintain and build relationships with local schools and community partners.
  • Create service and evangelism opportunities (School impact groups, conventions, Christian clubs, etc.).
  • Support student-led outreach initiatives.

F. Additional Duties

  • Support church-wide initiatives and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain administrative excellence maximizing usage of planning center services.
  • Participate in Church Leadership Development days; Ongoing Prayer Meetings, PPC Community Outreach Projects.

A. Worship Arts Department Support | Tech and Production Assistant

  • Planning Center Administrative Support
  • In-House Sound and Livestream technical support (Experience not required)
  • Media and ProPresenter Sunday morning, and mid-week ministry leadership
