Position Description

Are you passionate about community? Are you naturally a 'connector' of people? Are you between the ages of 15-30? Then you're the kind person we're looking for! This is a 12 week, 35 hours/week paid position (June 9 - August 28, 2026). The Community Youth Program Director will foster an awesome environment for youth to connect in meaningful and fun ways this summer in Ajax!

This position is about planning, promoting and executing fun reasons to get together and make some new friends over the months of July and August. It's about developing and leading a weekly program for youth from the Ajax community and beyond. As a head-start, our Summer Day Camp program includes a number of youth working as counselors and LiTs and the events you plan will help them build relationships and teamwork too.

You'll connect with other youth-oriented organizations in the community to learn more about them. You'll create novel ways of engaging youth in the community. You'll develop and maintain a social media campaign designed for engaging youth around meaningful issues and upcoming events. You'll engage with a group of youth working at our Day Camp in order to build relationships with the and between them. And maybe some other stuff we think up at the time as well.

You'll bring your faith. We're a Christian organization and we want to model Jesus' teaching and behaviour in everything we do. Jesus had a knack for making strangers into friends - so we hope you will too.

You'll bring your creativity and social media savvy. Your magnetic personality because you'll need to recruit volunteers to help support the program. You'll bring your maturity because you'll ensure that the youth who participate are able to do so in a physically, mentally and emotionally safe environment. Also, if you're over 18 you'll need to provide us with a current police background check.

Bring your flexibility, adaptability and commitment. Access to your own wheels is a definite bonus!
