Position Description

Are you a detail-oriented bookkeeper who finds meaning in supporting causes that matter? We are a boutique accounting firm specializing in non-profit organizations and registered charities. We are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team and help our clients keep their finances in order so they can focus on their mission.

  • Schedule: 3 days per week
  • Type: Part-Time, Hybrid
  • Location: Remote + GTA Travel
  • Compensation: $30,000 / year

About the Role

This is a part-time, primarily remote position working directly with non-profit and charitable clients across the Greater Toronto Area. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Some travel within the GTA to visit client offices may be required on occasion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for a portfolio of non-profit and charitable clients
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare and process payroll for client organizations
  • Assist with HST/GST filings and CRA remittances
  • Generate financial reports and statements for client review
  • Support year-end preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Communicate regularly with clients to gather financial documents and address inquiries

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (non-profit experience is a strong asset)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with payroll processing and government remittances
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset
  • Reliable and self-directed — comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Access to a vehicle and ability to travel within the GTA (a significant asset)
