Position Description

Position Summary

The Lead Pastor, in partnership with the Board of Elders and Senior Leadership Team, will be responsible for the overall ministry and vision of Heartland Alliance Church. This includes preaching and teaching, developing and implementing ministry strategies, and equipping and empowering church leadership and members.

Responsibilities

• Spiritual Leadership: Provide visionary leadership that aligns with Heartland Alliance Church’s mission and values, fostering spiritual growth and discipleship within the congregation.
• Preaching & Teaching: Deliver engaging, biblically sound sermons and teachings that inspire and equip believers, preaching 2-3 times per month.
• Leadership Development: Identify, develop, empower, and mentor current and emerging leaders within the church.
• Team Leadership: Work collaboratively with the Board of Elders, Senior Leadership Team, and ministry leaders to implement church initiatives and community engagement.
• Church Planting & Expansion: Lead with an entrepreneurial, apostolic spirit, seeking opportunities to reach more people with the love of Jesus and planting new churches to expand the Kingdom.
• Professional Development: Seek opportunities for personal growth and professional development and encourage the pastoral team to do the same.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Theology or Biblical Studies; a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree is an asset.
• Ordination or eligibility for ordination within the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is required.
• Experience as a Lead Pastor or in a senior leadership role within a church setting would be an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to preach and teach effectively.
• Strong pastoral care skills and a heart for serving others.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Demonstrated success in leading multiple staff within a growing church.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A clear understanding of, and agreement with, the C&MA Statement of Faith.

Compensation

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with C&MA guidelines.
