Position Description

Scripture Union Canada is currently looking for an enthusiastic School Ministry Coordinator to join our field ministry outreach team.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Development, facilitation and implementation of school-based children’s ministry initiatives
• School ministry chaplaincy, including chapel services and pastoral care.
• Running diverse sports clubs with schools or homeschool groups
• Assisting children and youth of all abilities to participate in extramural sports and Bible engagement
• Maximizing involvement of children, youth and families in school-associated sporting events, experiential games, and faith-based activities.
• Building relationships with school staff, parents and volunteers
• Assisting with training, mentoring and support of other sport-related initiatives
• Assisting the Director of Outreach & Training, as needed

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Teaching, Physical Education, Theology or similar discipline or ministry experience
• A person of spiritual maturity who supports the mandate of Scripture Union’s Statement of Beliefs and has a desire to serve others with a heart for evangelism and discipleship
• Strong organizational and administrative skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office software, familiarity with social media platforms, the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and work collaboratively with others
• Fluent in English and/or French with a high level of competency in verbal and written communication
• Involvement in community or league sports an asset

Salary:

This position is considered a vocational missionary position and would require the candidate to fundraise towards their salary
