Position Description
Community of Hope Church is prayerfully seeking a Transitional Pastor to shepherd and lead our congregation while we seek for a long term senior pastor. Our current senior pastor will be with us until July 31, 2026.
We are a welcoming and family-oriented church of approximately 100 people. We are committed to growing together in faith, deepening discipleship, and serving our local community with the love and message of Christ. We seek a Transitional Pastor who:
- passionately loves Jesus, loves people, and holds to the Bible as the inerrant word of God.
- can provide pastoral care and shepherding.
- has a strong working knowledge of the scriptures, ideally having Bible college and/or seminary training.
- is above reproach, attaining to the qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9).
- agrees with our statement of faith
- provides skilled exegetical, illustrative and applicational preaching.
- can lead our leaders of various ministries within the church.
- is willing to be directly accountable to our elders team.
- equips and encourages the church family in using their gifts to serve the wider community while communicating the good news of the gospel in various ways (1 Peter 4:10).
- has ministry experience in the North American context.
