Position Description
The Youth Director provides leadership, vision, and oversight for Praxis Junior and Senior Youth Ministries, building a clear discipleship pathway for the next generation. This includes developing leaders, organizing ministry systems, teaching Scripture, and creating environments where students encounter Jesus, grow in community, and are equipped for mission.
This role supports students, parents, and leaders by ensuring the ministry is spiritually healthy and operationally strong, contributing to the church by raising disciples, strengthening families, and integrating the next generation into the life and mission of the church.
- TYPE OF POSITION: Full-Time (Including Sundays)
- HOURS PER WEEK: 40 Hours
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Vision and Leadership. Provide clear vision, direction, and oversight for Youth Ministry (middle school and high school), ensuring alignment with the mission, values, and discipleship priorities of Praxis Church.
- Teaching and Discipleship. Develop and lead biblically faithful, gospel-centered teaching and discipleship environments that foster spiritual growth, scripture engagements, prayer, community, and mission.
- Serve Team Leadership. Recruit, equip, and disciple servers, building health Youth Leadership teams with clear expectations, ongoing development, and strong relational support.
- Ministry Execution. Over the planning and execution of weekly gatherings, events, retreats, and outreach initiatives, ensuring environments are organized, welcoming, safe, and purposeful.
- Care and Family Support. Provide care and support to students, serve teams, and families, fostering strong relationships and healthy communication.
- Systems and Communication. Develop and maintain effective systems for scheduling, communication, follow-up, and administration that support clear, consistent ministry operations.
- Team Collaboration. Collaborate with staff and church leadership to ensure Youth Ministry is integrated into the broader life and mission of Praxis Church.
DECISION-MAKING AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Leads the day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of Youth Ministry
- Oversees programming, serve team structure, communication, and ministry systems
- Provides leadership in teaching, planning, event execution, leader development, and discipleship strategy within the established ministry vision
- Collaborates with senior leadership on major decisions related to budget, staffing, doctrinal sensitivity, key calendar initiatives, and significant ministry changes
- Takes initiative, solves problems proactively, and communicates clearly when input or approval is needed
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Lead Pastor
- Works closely with: Staff team, ministry leaders, serve team leaders
- Coordinates with: Serve team, students, parents, event teams and church leadership

- Available for evening and weekend responsibilities as required
