Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Web Content Specialist to support the redevelopment and optimization of KATALYST’s public-facing website and digital communication systems.
This role will play an important part in supporting the improvement of KATALYST’s website content, structure, and accessibility, while contributing to public-facing informational resources and digital communication tools such as missionary engagement pages, donation pathways, educational campaigns, and new public offerings.
The successful candidate will receive structured supervision, mentoring, and practical experience in nonprofit digital growth strategy, website systems, analytics, SEO, and public communications.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Web Content Specialist will work collaboratively with leadership and external contractors as needed to help build a stronger digital platform for long-term organizational growth.

- Time Commitment: FTE; Temporary Summer Position – 8 weeks, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Website Redevelopment and Content Systems
- Assist in planning, developing, and enhancing KATALYST’s website and digital content systems.
- Help organize and improve site navigation, page structure, and content organization to support accessibility and user experience.
- Update, rewrite, migrate, and format website content into a modern platform.
- Support development and updating of web pages for programs, informational campaigns, and public engagement resources.
Missionary and Program Pages
- Update and enhance missionary profile pages to improve clarity, accessibility, and connection to related KATALYST information resources.
- Support the organization and linking of related content across missionary pages, informational resources, and ministry initiatives.
- Assist in creating program pages such as Sponsor a Student, campaign pages, and educational initiatives.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Conduct basic keyword research to support content organization and search visibility.
- Optimize titles, headings, metadata, alt text, and internal linking.
- Support improved content discoverability through basic SEO practices.
Analytics and Growth Systems
- Assist with installation and monitoring of Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and related tools.
- Assist in monitoring website traffic and user interaction data.
- Prepare summary reports on website performance and content effectiveness.
Digital Marketing Support
- Assist in preparing web pages that support public awareness campaigns and outreach efforts.
- Support integration between website content, email communications, and social media platforms.
- Assist in preparing digital content for use across web and social media platforms.
Accessibility and Quality Assurance
- Conduct accessibility checks and mobile responsiveness reviews.
- Test forms, links, page speed, and overall usability.
- Help ensure content accuracy and professional presentation.

Job Requirements and Core Qualifications
Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility Requirements
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Available to work the full duration of the Canada Summer Jobs placement
- Strong written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational ability.
- Comfortable learning and using digital tools independently.
- Positive attitude and ability to receive coaching.
Technical Qualifications
- Familiarity with website platforms such as WordPress.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar tools.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets, content systems, and cloud collaboration tools.
Personal Qualities
- Initiative and self-motivation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience building or editing websites.

Work Environment
