Position Description

• Position: Director of Youth and Discipleship (part-time)
• Status: This position is a 20-hour position. There are two ministries—Discipleship and Youth.
• Church Description: Faith Church, a member of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada, has been part of the Kitchener - Waterloo - Cambridge community for 65 years. We want to boldly help people believe in Jesus and grow deep in Him!
• Position Description: Provide leadership for discipleship and worship ministry.

Qualifications:

A suitable applicant should exhibit:

• A personal, passionate relationship with God which is growing and being shared with others.
• Share our vision of a local both evangelizing and discipling. Our Mission is to: “Boldly Help People Believe in Jesus and Grow Deep in Him”. This person would be passionate to see others grow in their personal discipleship with others, for the practice of spiritual disciplines and personal transformation of new believers.
• Theological training is preferred (youth, theology, church ministry) or are open to pursuing supplementary education for ministry excellence.
• Experience with serving youth ministries is preferred.

Ministry of Youth Discipleship

Be involved with the Jr. & Sr. High students (gr. 6-12) by:

• Discipling the youth leaders and leading alongside them.
• Overseeing the teaching and overall program.
• Recruiting and training youth leaders to help disciple students.
• Encouraging and equipping parents to biblically raise their children.

Ministry of Group Discipleship

Be directly involved with the Lead Pastor in maturing the church by:

• Providing leadership training for small group ministries on Tuesdays.
• Ability to organize and integrate people into small groups based on location, interest and needs.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Spiritually supporting volunteer leaders: Young Adult’s, Men’s and Women’s, Senior’s Ministry, Bible Study leaders and providing leadership if needed.
• Assisting in organizing with the Lead Pastor in occasional church-wide events for discipleship (eg, special events, workshops/seminars).
