Position Description

We are excited to meet the pastor God has called to lead Zion Baptist Church in Terrace, British Columbia. We are a Christ-centred community who reaches people for Jesus, encourages growth, and shows His love in action. Find out more at www.zionbaptist.ca.

As our pastor, you will be a fit if you are called by God, have a personal and vibrant faith in Jesus Christ and have theological education and training. You will be committed of the study of the Word and to prayer, and will be committed to the Statement of Beliefs of the BCBA. Your passion for evangelism will be evident and you will be self-motivated.

Your role will be permanent and ideally full-time; however, we are flexible. You will reflect the values and pursue the mission of Zion Baptist Church, preach/teach the Word of God through weekly sermons, serve as an ex-officio member on all boards and committees and work in close harmony with the board and ministry leaders to develop vision, mission, strategic planning and outreach opportunities.

You will disciple and shepherd congregants and church leaders to help them pursue growth and leadership development. You will be the representative of Zion Baptist Church in the community of Terrace, at the British Columbia Baptist Association, the Terrace Ministerial and to the general public. You will maintain and foster relationships with commercial neighbours, as well as community organizations such as the food bank and shelters.
