Position Description

Hiring of Assistant Pastor for Mandarin Ministry at Richmond Hill (Chinese) Baptist Church.

The Mandarin Ministry (Assistant) pastor will work with the pastoral team to shepherd the
Mandarin Speaking group of the church. The ideal candidate would be a mature Christian with a clear calling and a passion in building up people with his/her gifts and experience:

• Full-time pastoral experience for Mandarin-speaking faith community
• Identify with the Baptist creed and system
• Able to lead and equip believers to become spiritual leaders
• Gifted in preaching, Bible teaching, outreach, and pastoral care
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and a team spirit
• Holds a Master of Divinity (or equivalent) from an evangelical seminary
• Familiar with the culture and needs of North American Chinese (Mandarin-speaking) communities
• Fluent in Mandarin, with knowledge of English and Cantonese being a plus
